Meeting Baby Gray

Well I am going to go ahead and apologize in advance for the book of a blog that is to follow.
There is just NO WAY I will be able to sum this session up in a mere paragraph. SO this couple should look very familiar considering their maternity session was only a couple of weeks ago. I like to say, when it comes to pregnancy, labor, delivery etc, that the ONLY thing predictable about it all… is how unpredictable it all is HAHA!

Latosha (mommy) found out that she was going to be induced a couple of weeks before her due date. And I can honestly say I have never seen ANYONE more calm than they were, knowing that news. I would have been a wreck! Her induction day quickly approached, they were both keeping me up to date and I decided to go to the hospital sooner than I normally do… I just had a gut feeling. I AM SO GLAD THAT I DID! You will see why shortly.

So I arrive at the hospital, walk into the room to see daddy resting and mommy BRIGHT EYED and happy. She was BEEMING! She had her pen and paper making lists and preparing for little ones upcoming shower. I love how put together this couple is by the way! So we start talking and I said your too happy to be in labor HAHA! BUT shortly after I got there labor showed up!!!

I was so impressed with how well mommy and daddy worked together through each contraction. Well the entire process really. Which let me just take a few minutes to talk about dad (Orlando) really quick. He is a TRUE GENTLEMAN! The way that he cared and supported his lovely wife was just immeasurable. Even Tosha’s father made the comment “They are so in love, I don’t even know if its possible to love someone the way they love each other.” UGH my heart seriously melted! Not only was Orlando there for her WHENEVER Tosha called his name, but he was also juggling phone calls quite frequently. He did so well with making sure all of his family was included during this very special time. He kept everyone calm and collected all while being that strong support for Tosha. He kept her laughing and always kept the mood light. I saw on several occasions where he would sneak her a wink. And when it was time for her to start pushing he put a little Salt N Peppa “Push it” on! THATS RIGHT how fun are they?!?!

I have seen many families and many births. But I have yet to see a family like theirs. Everyone was so balanced. They knew when to be quiet, or help Tosha breath through a contraction. Each family member brought something a little different to the table to help Tosha get through all of it. The bond between them all and the way they all worked together was something I truly admired. You just don’t see that very much these days. It just made me fall in love with this session all the more.

Tosha is an absolutely amazing woman! I was/am so proud of all of the hard work she put in! My heart ALWAYS goes out to mommies in labor. If you have gone through it you always remember! She labored for so long at which seemed to be very little progress… But she went from 4cm dilated to a 10 in literally like 20 minutes! Which is why I am so glad I went with my gut on coming to the hospital earlier than I normally do. When baby girl made her arrival, the look on Toshas face was everything and more. That look is exactly where the statement “A mother’s love” comes from. I kept having to tell myself “You’re a professional DO NOT cry!” HAHA But seeing her face just overwhelmed me with happiness and love!

Tosha and Orlando, I am so happy your sweet “punkin” is here. And I am also so glad that I was able to capture these amazing moments for you both! You will be the most amazing parents! Soak every second up and hold and kiss her often!
As I end this blog please know that these few images just barely scratch the surface from this session.
