6 Tips for picking the perfect wardrobe
One of the most popular questions I receive is “what should I wear on my session?”
And to be quite honest I will never tell you specifically what you should wear. I want your wardrobe to be YOU not me. I want your personality to come through in your images. Now does this mean you can show up with a wife beater and sweats and we will rock it?…. Absolutely NOT! I still want you to be the best looking version of yourself. So I have decided to write a few tips that will help you pick out your wardrobe before your session.
First – AVOID very loose fitting shirts.
I know they are super stylish and very comfy but they do NOT photograph well at all. Even the thinnest person ever can still add weight with these type shirts.
Second – Solid colors are best but don’t shy away from patterns all together.
Subtle patterns are just awesome, especially when on a sun dress or a printed pant. When it comes to patterns just try to remember subtle is better. If you love those big bold colors stick to the solids.
Third – I LOVE pops of color, whether it be in a shoe, a statement piece necklace, a headpiece.
Whatever it is I LOVE POPS OF COLOR.
Fourth – Speaking of headpieces… I love all things unique.
My style is very editorial/high fashion so if you have something that you love but are afraid is too out there, do not… I REPEAT DO NOT be afraid to bring it along. This rule applies not just to headpieces but really any garment or jewelry!
Fifth – I cannot stand too matchy!
If you like the whole white shirt blue jean look, then you might not want me to photograph you. COORDINATION is key! I mean really who’s rule was it anyways that you need to all be in the same color? Come on guys mix it up!
AND Sixth…. Really have fun with it.
I promise you, you more than likely have the most amazing outfit just sitting in your closet waiting for you. Be creative, mix and match things that you wouldn’t normally put together.
And of course IF you need any ideas because your just lost, find my Pinterest page and have a ball !
