The Beginning
I have so much to say and share with everyone on underwater sessions, but out of kindness I will break it up. I want to go to the very beginning and with that being said I want to say I LOVE UNDERWATER SESSONS!
I learned to swim when I was very young, and ALWAYS had a love of water. Like most little girls I wanted to be The Little Mermaid and live in the ocean with the fish. As I got a little older I started to develop horrid ear infections from being in the water. I spent all of my late childhood, teenage and adult life not going underwater… that is until about two years ago. Even though I wasn’t going “all the way in” the water, as my children would say, I was still always around water. Whenever possible and fitting I would get clients in or around water any time I could! There were many times I would think about going under just for a few seconds to see how my ears would deal with it, but it made me too nervous. All I needed was a small push….
About two years ago a very close friend/client discovered she was expecting her second child. Little did I know that the little push that I needed was coming. This client’s husband spoke with me and requested an underwater maternity session! That was exactly what I needed! I was ready to accept this challenge and do my very first under water shoot!
Of course that session was a bit of a struggle not only because it felt weird to go all the way under water, but to go under and stay under. Plus I was very Ill for that session, after that session I was in the hospital for a WEEK! I mean of course I would get sick for my first underwater session HA HA! You might as well call me murphy if it can happen it will! But aside from those few things this session had me HOOKED!
I fell in love with it immediately! Underwater it looks and kind of feels like time is standing still. It is so calm and peaceful… after you get over thinking your drowning. It is like being in another world. So the beginning of Significant Moments Underwater Sessions began….
Well as I said I will break these blogs up and now knowing the beginning of it all, please enjoy some of my very first underwater images. It’s a journey enjoy the ride… AND STAY TUNED for more blogs of my recent work!
