Morragan’s underwater session
SO get ready for something amazing. I am sure you will recognize this face, as I photographed her not too long ago. She is a class of 2017 graduate and we took this beauty below the water and I am so beyond tickled to share.
First I want to say that I have been super fortunate in the fact that everyone I have photographed as of yet has been such a quick learner when it comes to underwater. I know everyone sees the outcome and automatically thinks it’s so simple. I promise you looks are deceiving! Just ask ANY of my underwater clients. They will tell you that if you can get past the initial blowing ALL of your air out down pat, then you have to deal with the wardrobe sticking to you… OR going completely opposite and being all over the place! Not to mention you have to be very aware of your hands, feet AND hair!
Every now and again you will see clients of mine ESPECIALLY maternity clients not go completely under the water. The above paragraph is exactly why HAHA! SO now that that is said we need to remember that it is winter so even indoor pools are still not the warmest, and getting out of the pool is like pure torture. Now knowing all of this you will never be able to tell based on the images you will soon see! I was very impressed with Morragan as I am with EVERY session I have had the pleasure of photographing her on!
My vision for these images was still leaning on the whimsical side, because it’s hard for me to NOT be whimsical with someone who has blue hair! But aside from that I really wanted to test my composite, and editing skills with these. I feel very strongly that there is a very fine line between ridiculously fake and images that are a piece of FINE ART, completely using the clients OWN features, clothing, and just layering several images on top of one another to create the look wanted. You will know exactly which image I’m speaking of when you see it. I also wanted an overall SUNNY warm feel to these images, simply because I WAS FREEZING in the water. I hate cold everything… I even dislike putting ice in my drinking water HA! So I wanted sunrays- and a very Matte look to them!
SO as I wrap this blog up I wanted to give Morragan a round of applause! You did fabulous my dear! Your last year of high school is rapidly approaching and I am so glad you have images to remember that…. And although this will not be our last rendezvous together I’m sure,…. I am certain it was definitely one of the most memorable! Until next time… enjoy your images!
